Oculofacial Plastic Surgery is a specialized area of plastic surgery, which places an emphasis on reconstructive, and aesthetic elements of the eyelids, face, the brow, orbital bones, and nose and tear duct system. There are less than 600 plastic surgeons worldwide that are specialized in this field.

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery certifies only a small number of fellowship training programs. An estimated 20 surgeons are trained each and every year in this specialty. Physicians are meticulously trained in reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery during these two-year fellowships.
