Here’s a great cosmetic surgery debate. Knives or needles? Neither! I’ll take a cannula any time of day. And now you can have all of the beauty benefits of a facelift without going under the knife or the needle with a Cannula Liquid Facelift. The whole purpose of a facelift is to achieve a more youthful appearance. A facelift eliminates lines and wrinkles. It firms the skins, fills in the hollow areas of the face, and fills out the mid face areas. The wonders of technology and pharmacology have given us wonderful dermal fillers and injectables like Botox to achieve today what could only be done with a knife just a few years ago.
Dr. Shoib A. Myint, the internationally recognized facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon and founder of Myint Plastic Surgery is also the author of a new book, Nonsurgical Periorbitol Rejuvenation. There has been a tremendous push from patients for non-surgical ways to rejuvenate the face. This is only going to expand in the future with technological advances in the forefront of plastic surgery. I truly believe you as the patient seeking facial rejuvenation, will find wonderful modalities now to beautify yourself without going under the knife”, says Dr. Myint.
Depending on the fillers being used and the areas being treated, a cannula, a small tube, is used to inject each area instead of needles. You can expect much less bruising and bleeding with very little downtime. The entire procedure can take less than an hour to perform. You may feel some slight discomfort, but because of Dr. Myint’s cannula technique, the procedure can be without any pain. Immediately after your liquid facelift you’ll be able to see the initial results, and you can expect those results to evolve and improve during the days that follow.
The duration of your results will vary, based on the filler or the injectable used. Fillers last generally from a few months to as long as two years. The effects of Botox usually wear off in about six months. You can prolong your results through touch-up procedures, but you should be able to cover all of the necessary areas of your face in one session.
Dr. Myint warns that any injection carries a small risk of infection. Immediately after injection, some fillers may cause tiny lumps to form under the skin, which will disappear as the material spreads out. ”The benefits tremendously outweigh the risks for this type of procedure”, says Dr. Myint. “There is no need for general anesthesia, it can be performed as an outpatient procedure, you can have quick results and quick recovery, and you can treat specific areas of the face.
No need for a knife anymore. A new youthful you is just a filler away.
